Downtown Ferndale Welcomes Local Redevelopment Company

Ferndale based redevelopment company Michigan Property Superstore has taken root in downtown and has began the revitalization of the local community. “We officially moved into our new headquarters on October 14 2011 and have already purchased and began renovation on 7 properties” says vice president, Erik Stark! “Just talking with the local businesses and even local homeowners, there is a euphoric atmosphere that literally draws (and keeps) people to the city of Ferndale”.

Started in 2008 with his high school friend Steve Mills, Michigan Property recently relocated their main office from St Clair Shores to Downtown Ferndale. They have successfully purchased, renovated and resold over 200 properties in the past few years and have chosen Ferndale to be their jump off point moving into the future.

“We are making Ferndale our main focus right now, although we are watching the whole Woodward corridor”. Michigan Property’s primary focus is cleaning up the distressed property market, starting with the overwhelm of foreclosures and short sales found throughout the area. With the average sale price of $71,000 in Ferndale and the average value of $117,000, buying a home (with equity) in Ferndale makes absolute sense.

“We are looking for help from the community as well! Our eyes and ears can only go so far, so if there is something that needs to be brought to our attention, we want feed back from the community” mentioned Karen who manages the office and works with community leaders to have an impact on the cities blight.
