Dec. 2, 2011 - PRLog -- Businesses around the world are increasing their focus on streamlining internal systems by taking on new initiatives to boost productivity, value and growth and cut costs in an increasingly volatile global economy. One of the main points of focus has been shared services and outsourcing, which can improve the efficiency of an organisation by increasing specific knowledge through the uniting and consolidation of two or more business processes.

However, despite the benefits to business, some organisations have been wary about uptake due to concerns about potential jobs losses in an uncertain global climate, as well as the more practical issues associated with physically merging processes.

According to a recent KPMG 3Q11 Sourcing Advisory Pulse Survey of leading global business and IT service providers, 71 per cent claimed that the most common approach organisations took to enhance service delivery and performance was to increase their current shared services and outsourcing governance processes and capabilities. This figure represents an increase on last quarter's figures by five per cent.
