Nov. 28, 2011 - PRLog -- For many, the perfect winter day or evening involves sitting around the fireplace, sipping hot cocoa while the snow falls outside. While wood used to be chopped to fuel the the fire in the past, homes are increasingly turning to gas logs as wood fire alternatives.

"Gas logs require very little, if any, maintenance," said Patrick Curran, owner of Guardian Chimney in Montvale, N.J.

"These logs are also safer to operate, and can put out twice the heat of wood."

A gas log is a gas burner designed to mimic the look of firewood burning in a fireplace. Guardian Chimney, Curran's company, carries a variety of different vented and vent-free gas log products. These gas logs are simple to use, are cost efficient and are environmentally friendly. They're also less messy than chopped-up firewood, which can leave wood splinters laying around your home.
