Nov. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- Nebraska Attorney General and U.S. Senate Candidate Jon Bruning further questioned Ben Nelson’s vote for Obamacare in light of a new Mercer survey.  Bruning is running to unseat Ben Nelson who provided the 60th and deciding vote for Obamacare.

“It’s clear Obamacare is making it difficult and more expensive for employers to keep their health care coverage,” said Bruning.

The Mercer survey asked companies whether they would drop their employee health plans in 2014, the year the new insurance exchanges will be set up.  The survey found 13 percent of employers in Nebraska were likely or very likely to drop their health benefits once insurance exchanges begin operations.

The survey also indicated that the new health care law has already added between two and five percent to employers’ health benefit.

“We should have common sense reforms that control costs, help small businesses, improve access to care, protect employer based plans and work for Nebraskans,” said Bruning. “We don’t need plans like Obamacare, which puts government in the middle of patients and their doctors.”
