Nov. 16, 2011 - PRLog -- NEW YORK - Filipino-American Film producer and director Richard M. Reyes submitted "2011 Music Video Trio".

The "2011 Music Video Trio" was created to highlight local Filipino-American talent in the United States and to promote positive messages.

The three talents Director Richard M. Reyes had the pleasure to work with are: Archie D', Dennis Sy, and Sounds of Manila.

Archie D' has been a successful composer and singer in the Philippines.  He has earned the Gold Record Award for hits such as "Mahal na Mahal".  Filipina Songbird Regine Velasquez has performed Archie D's "Mahal na Mahal" and received as much positive response.

Dennis Sy is a talented singer who might be better known as a lead singer of the group, "Chapter 2 Band" (who debuted in Carnegie Hall in October 2010).  He is a talented music professional by his own right.

Sounds of Manila is a band comprised of six professionals: Hermie Angeles (Vocals), Suzanne Lansangan-Sabangan (Vocals), Ronald Sabangan (Bass), Jojo Gendrano (Guitar), JR Gendrano (Drums), and Bobby De Leon (Keyboard).  They perform the genre known as Original Pilipino Music (OPM) which originated in Manila in the 1970s.

In the "2011 Music Video Trio" the following songs were performed:
* Archie D' - Fly - This is a song that talks about dreaming big and accomplishing big.  This music video had debuted in 2010 and aired on MYX Philippines, a popular MTV-type program, since March 2011. This is his first music video after 20 years in the music industry

* Dennis Sy - Could It Be - This is a song that looks at the world through the hope and viewpoint of a child.  This is the international debut of the music video

* Sounds of Manila - Manila - The original song "Manila" was one of the largest hits of the group Hotdog.  It was written in the 1970s.  Before any work started, both Sounds of Manila (Suzanne Lansangan-Sabangan) and director Richard M. Reyes, wanted to ensure we received permission. After official permission was received from Rene Garcia,  the creative flow started and the beauty of the Philippines is portrayed through the video and musical performance.  This is the international debut of the music video

It is a great surprise to learn that "2011 Music Video Trio", as a nominee for BEST Music Video at the 2011 International Film Festival Manhattan, is competing head-to-head with Charice Pempengco's music video produced by Director Tim Cruz.

Director Richard M. Reyes says, "Many blessings have been already given just for us to get to this point. The road to producing and directing these music videos and having them OFFICIALLY selected in an international film festival has been an outstanding learning experience; not to mention loads of fun. I've also had the opportunity of meeting other talented filmmakers; seeing their work and being inspired is a priceless experience.  You just want to start work on another production or at least complete the current productions you are in."

He looks forward to producing and directing; as a result promoting and highlighting the talent in the national and international community.  Mabuhay!
