Nov. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- “You aren’t going to find better quality than what you find in the Sweet Romance Jewelry collection,” said host Kendy Kloepfer as she welcomed designer and historian Shelley Cooper to ShopNBC’s Jewelry Holiday Special on Saturday, November 12.  The fast-paced shopping trip through Cooper’s eye-catching heirloom and vintage styles produced multiple sell-outs and entranced fans and new shoppers alike.

“It’s the history and magic of the pieces themselves which make them feel substantial when you wear them,” said Cooper who adroitly weaves an interesting and informative narrative about each distinctive and dramatic design into her comfortable, soft-sell style.  “The components and manufacturing techniques of each design tell a story about the era that inspired it which in turn imparts spirit and value to the jewelry.”

Cooper knows dates and locations when Bohemian glassworks were their most productive, that Catherine the Great had a vast collection of intaglio jewelry now housed in the Hermitage Museum and it was only when women began to bob their hair in the 1920s that earrings became visible and fashionable.

Susan, a shopper from New York, phoned into the show to share her enthusiasm about the stories which are a trademark of Cooper’s presentations.  “Listening to you, Shelley, and watching these incredible pieces is like having a class in jewelry history,” she said.  “It is so impressive and enriching to know something special about each piece.”

While only a small selection of the nearly 50 signature pieces created exclusively by Cooper for shoppers at ShopNBC were presented on air, the entire collection remains on sale for holiday gift shopping at ShopNBC.com.  Intaglios, jadeite glass and Czech glass pearls mix with semiprecious magnesite, red jasper and chrysocola stones in Cooper’s signature vintage and antique silhouettes expressed in bangle bracelets, dramatic drop earrings and statement necklace pendants.

“There is an uplifting joy these jewels bring us and some speak directly to our hearts,” Cooper said after the successful show.  “I am honored and gratified to hear from people about how Sweet Romance jewelry has touched and enriched their lives. I encourage them to come back next month when I return with an entire new collection of jewels they’ll have to have for themselves or for last-minute gift giving.”
