By: GraMedica

Nov. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- Macomb, MI, -- Dr. Michael E. Graham, founder of GraMedica® and the inventor of HyProCure®, a revolutionary internal extra-osseous talotarsal stabilization device, was recently extended the honor of presenting select research associated with HyProCure®  at the Sixth International Congress of (the) Chinese Orthopaedic Association (COA). The conference will be held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing, China, December 1 – 4, 2011.

COA invites renowned experts from all over the world to present at the Congress. Presentation of cutting-edge orthopaedic research is the cornerstone of the COA. COA comprehensively reviewed all content to ensure the science met exacting standards. More than 15,000 surgeons are expected to attend this event of the largest and most influential orthopaedic society in China.

Two peer-reviewed studies, both of which Dr. Graham was the primary author and investigator on, will be featured. The first, "Radiographic Evaluation of Navicular Position in the Sagittal Plane – Correction following an Extra-Osseous Talotarsal Stabilization (EOTTS) Procedure", has already been published in the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery (JFAS). The abstract is available at http://www.jfas.org/article/S1067-2516%2811%2900206-7/abs.... The key findings of this research showed that following EOTTS with HyProCure®, there was an average 26% increase in navicular height. The EOTTS procedure also maintained the normal alignment of the navicular in the sagittal plane. The second research project to be featured is "An Extra-Osseous Talotarsal Stabilization Procedure for the Treatment of Flexible Talotarsal Joint Instability - A Five Year Retrospective Follow-Up." This research was accepted for publication in JFAS. The positive outcomes obtained in this study may imply that HyProCure®  was effective in stabilizing the talotarsal joint complex and eliminating excessive abnormal pronation, thus reducing pain and improving quality of life for patients.

Along with the poster presentation, GraMedica® will also be an exhibitor at the event. To find more events at which GraMedica® will be exhibiting and speaking, please visit our events calendar at http://www.gramedica.com/gramedica/events/.

GraMedica®, a global orthopedic medical device company, provides a revolutionary internal extra-osseous talotarsal stabilization device that is placed inside the foot via a minimally invasive out-patient procedure. The effects of talotarsal dislocation include fallen arches, bunions, overpronation, Achilles tendonitis, posterior tibial tendon dysfunction, and pain in the foot, ankle, knee, hip, back or even shoulder and jaw area. The HyProCure®  device instantly stabilizes the ankle bone on the hindfoot bones, leading to reversal of the associated effects of the dislocation. HyProCure® represents a real solution for patients suffering from this condition (www.gramedica.com/gramedica/resources/presentations/hyprocure-talotarsal-stabilization/). HyProCure® has been used by foot surgeons since 2004.
