Indiana Is Ready for the Second Annual Hoosier Math Cup to Motivate Students to “Do Math”

Nov. 1, 2011 - PRLog -- INDIANAPOLIS, IN (November 1, 2011) - Apangea Learning will kick off the 2nd Annual Hoosier Math Cup. Students across the state will be competing for the title of Hoosier Math Cup Champion. The winning class will receive the coveted Hoosier Math Cup and an awards ceremony where each student will receive special recognition, complete with customized certificates and t-shirts.

More than 30,000 Indiana students in more than 300 schools will participate at school, during after school programs, and at home during the contest period. Apangea will also name Regional Class Champions that will receive a special pizza party prize package and Individual Champions that will receive prizes such as, movie passes, an Xbox with Kinect, or Amazon gift cards.

“Apangea’s Hoosier Math Cup is an excellent opportunity for students to participate in a fun-filled competition that challenges each and every one of them to reach for new heights of academic success,” said Dr. Bennett. “The successful efforts of Apangea to

The Regional Class Champions will be the class from each of the six regions with the highest average number of points earned during the contest per enrolled student. The Hoosier Math Cup Champion will be the regional champion with the highest average. Individual winners will be randomly selected from all students meeting the minimum point thresholds.
