“Start Norfolk” http://startnorfolk.com/ is an “…intense 48 hour event which will focus on” taking a one minute pitch and turning it into a business “..over the course of just a single weekend.” The winner will win the opportunity to start that following Monday morning, with an office space and support to begin their journey to market.

The journey begins at 6 PM Friday November 11, 2011, when doors open to registered participants. One minute pitches start at 7:15 PM. Pitches are not limited, any idea for a new application, product, service and/or business are welcomed. All you will need to do is keep the pitch to one minute or less and of course, convince the judges that your idea should go to the next round. By 9:00 PM that same night, Judges will select a percentage of those ideas that seem viable. Then the real fun begins. From the audience of registered participants, teams will form around pitch that they believe with help can become a winning reality. Over the weekend, competing teams will have access to different experts, who will help guide them as the teams move forward to the final presentations on Sunday November 13th starting at 6:15 PM. The event schedule includes presentations, speakers, music and much more.

This is truly an entrepreneurial opportunity. Open to anyone with that “idea” that within their soul that they knew would work, if only they had been given a chance. It is also an opportunity for both new and season professionals to network in what will be an activity packed weekend.
