New York film financing company Preston Waters greenlights London-based futuristic thriller Lucidity

Oct. 25, 2011 - PRLog -- New York and Chicago based entertainment company, Preston Waters Corporation, has today green lit the $20m (U.S.) budget for the exciting new UK blockbuster, Lucidity.
         
        Freddie Hutton-Mills and Bart Ruspoli, whose credits both include the hard-hitting prison-drama Screwed, and the gripping action-horror Devil’s Playground, will be producing the movie, with Intandem Films handling international sales.
         
        Directed by BAFTA award-winning female duo Bert&Bertie, the movie is set in a dystopian near-future London where an addictive drug called “Lucidity” allows memories to be downloaded, stored, stolen and traded. The story revolves around Mark, a young addict on the hunt for his girlfriend’s killer using other people’s memories.
         
        His quest takes him into the heart of London’s slums revealing dark truths about government corruption, his girlfriend’s disappearance and his own past.

         The producers have described it as an “ambitious movie in a difficult time, so we’re thankful to the guys at Preston Waters in sharing our belief in the film’s huge potential, and we feel we’ve picked the perfect creative team to realize just that.”

         President of Film and Television at Preston Waters, Matt Moran added, “Bert&Bertie’s talent for blurring the lines between fantasy and reality makes them the ideal fit for this film.  We are thrilled ‘Lucidity’ will debut their award-winning talents to the global film audience.”

         The film is set to go behind the cameras in February 2012.
