The awards received included Silver for Best Single Family Home under 2500SF, and two Gold awards for Most Innovative Green Design in the Open and Single Family Home categories.
The English Residence is Energy Star rated and received LEED GOLD certification from the US Green Building Council. The homeowner’s environmental philosophy is reflected in design which includes a high performance building envelope free of thermal bridging, a high efficiency condensing boiler with radiant floor heating, an allergen filtration system and a heat recovery ventilator for indoor air quality, and finally, photovoltaic panels which offset one-third of the home’s electricity use. These efforts mean the home uses 60% less energy than a code-built equivalent home.
“Our firm was delighted to design this exceptional home, now highlighted by three PRISM awards,” said Adam Prince of ZeroEnergy Design, “These awards reinforce our ongoing commitment to excellent design and performance for every project”.
