The Seaside Adventure of Carrot, Pea, and Friends

Oct. 13, 2011 - PRLog -- Forty-two years ago when Graham F. Linney, shown here in the black and white photograph was in his early 20s, whilst attending Art College he wrote and illustrated three children’s story books.

Only his Carrot and Pea story generated interest. After passing through the hands of many publishers, a well-known one based in London, England,   made an offer to take The Seaside Adventure on board, but wanted to produce it in two colours. Graham could not envisage the outcome and declined the offer. He was just about to start with a college in the capital to study typography to a more advanced level when one of the publishers who turned the books down offered him work illustrating their children’s books. He gave this considerable thought, but could not see how he could make the time studying, knowing that in the art and printing industries everything is wanted “yesterday.”

On the return of the book mock-up, it was lost and forgotten about. It resurfaced during the year 2001.

About the Author: Graham F. Linney lives with his wife near the historic and picturesque town of Bury St Edmunds. They have two grown children plus three delightful grandchildren. It was for his grandchildren to have their own little book that instigated the desire, along with other thought-provoking factors to redesign and upgrade the little story book. The author’s retirement from everyday full-time employment gave him the time to successfully achieve the undertaking.
