Oct. 11, 2011 - PRLog -- SOUTH FLORIDA - National Voices for Equality, Education and Enlightenment (NVEEE), along with the co-founders of the anti-bullying initiative "be a STAR," The Creative Coalition and WWE, announced today that Wednesday, October 12, 2011 will be Global "be a STAR" Day in support of National Bullying Prevention Month.

"be a STAR's" (Show Tolerance and Respect) 47 alliance members, made up of leading national service and community organizations including NVEEE, GLAAD and STOMP Out Bullying, are inviting educators, school administrators, students, parents, caregivers and other concerned citizens to log onto www.beastaralliance.org today through October 12th to:

·       Take the official be a STAR pledge.
·       Download the be a STAR free anti-bullying teacher’s aide.
·       Register to receive a be a STAR School Chapter Toolkit.

“We're proud to use the voice of the arts to champion what is good for society. And, there's nothing good that bullies bring to society. Entertainment and the arts have a unique and powerful platform that The Creative Coalition and WWE are galvanizing to stand up to bullies,” said Robin Bronk, CEO of The Creative Coalition.

be a STAR's free teacher’s aide may be used as a curriculum supplement or as a stand-alone resource to teach children how to treat each other equitably and to prevent bullying. The aide, which aligns with National Education Standards, was created by NEA’s Health Information Network and Education Consultant Dr. Fran Prolman.

be a STAR is being promoted on WWE’s television programming, digital, social media and print platforms, as well as through The Creative Coalition’s arts and entertainment industry networks. In addition, WWE Superstars and Divas will be in Mexico the week of October 12th, visiting local schools and promoting be a STAR to spread the anti-bullying message globally and put an end to this epidemic. be a STAR alliance members are promoting this day to their members and constituencies.
