Save Money - Enterprise Zone Tax Benefit Workshop

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct. 10, 2011 - Business owners, homeowners, and investors – and those who have clients interested in saving money - are invited to attend a FREE Tax Benefits workshop on Thursday, October 27, from 9:00am to 11:00am in Training Room 230-Building A at the County Administration complex, 1801 27th Street.  The Indian River County Chamber of Commerce is offering the workshop to encourage private investment in Indian River County, and especially in the Enterprise Zone. The Enterprise Zone program provides certain tax credits and sales tax refunds to existing or new businesses as well as to homeowners located in the designated area.  The workshop will also cover special tax benefits available to Florida manufacturers and printing companies located anywhere in the county.
Business owners or residents located within the Enterprise Zone are encouraged to keep receipts for any major equipment and machinery purchases made during the past six months, or receipts from new construction or renovation/remodeling projects completed, as they may be eligible for sales tax reimbursements.
The Indian River County/City of Vero Beach Enterprise Zone is a 4.5 square mile area that includes properties in and around the Vero Beach Municipal Airport plus the adjacent Gifford community.  A detailed map of the area is available on the Chamber’s website http://www.indianriverchamber.com.  
Manufacturers and owners of printing companies will learn more about tax benefits related to electricity or fuels used in production, equipment purchases made to increase production, and credits for research and development activities.
The free Enterprise Zone workshop will go into detail on each the programs, help you fill out the applications for sales tax refunds and credits, and identify what items are considered eligible expenses.  A representative from Ryan tax consulting services http://www.ryan.com/Florida.aspx will be at the workshop to provide technical assistance.
The workshop is scheduled for Thursday, October 27, from 9:00am to 11:00am, in Training Room 230-Building A of the County Administration complex.  There is no cost to attend, though seating is limited.  Reservations should be made by Tuesday, October 25.
