New Haven Public Schools Renew RFID Contract To Track Computers, Monitor Environmental Conditions

New Haven Public School (NHPS) system has extended its contract to use Queralt’s iQ3® cloud based RFID system to track its high value computer equipment and will also start using additional sensors to monitor energy usage in order to reduce costs.

PRLog - Sep. 27, 2011 - North Haven, CT – Michael Queralt, CEO of Queralt, Inc., a leading provider of cloud-based rfid and sensor decision systems, announced today that the New Haven Public School (NHPS) system has extended its contract to use Queralt’s iQ3® cloud based system to track its high value computer equipment and will also start using the system to monitor energy usage in some of the schools in order to reduce energy costs.  “The New Haven Public Schools have been able to dramatically reduce their loss rates on valuable technology, which has a positive impact on their finances and, more importantly, on the access to the technology for our students and teachers,” said Queralt.  “We also expect to achieve similar reductions in utility costs by using our iQ3® system to monitor energy consumption for the school system,” Queralt continued.

“The worlds’ use of the Internet increases every day,” said Will Clark, the New Haven Board of Education’s Chief Operating Officer.  ”There is a shift taking place from an Internet of people to an Internet of objects, environments and people.  Queralt is a company focused on providing a cost effective way to manage these valuable assets and environments by using a unique technology that jumps over the limitations requiring physical proximity.  Its cutting-edge design as a data driven, cloud-based solution,” he continued, “allows the New Haven School system to focus on our top priority of providing a world class education to our students.”

Queralt’s RFID/sensor technology uses cloud-based Internet services with a user-friendly dashboard, or graphical interface, to provide real-time management and monitoring of the condition, state and location of high value physical assets and environmental conditions. iQ3® provides the needed security for large organizations to protect their investments and people, reduce their costs and increase productivity.

Queralt, founded in 2006, has a growing list of customers that include corporations in the industrial, financial, security, manufacturing and service sectors, as well as education and healthcare organizations, and U.S. government agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security and the National Institutes of Health.
