Most recently, to further promote tourism in the State of Campeche, the Secretary of Tourism, Augusto Garcia Rosado along with the Director of Administration Port Integal (API), Fernando Sadeck Abad, announced the first cruise ship to home port in Champotón.

Tropicana Cruises Ltd, a veteran company of 25 years in the cruise tourism industry and their ship "Adriana" will depart weekly from the Port of Seibaplaya, municipality of Champotón, Campeche with ports of calls in the neighboring states of Yucatan (Progresso), Quintana Roo (Cancun) and Havana, Cuba.

The State Government of Campeche foresees major economic benefits arriving from such a cruise line in the area. The Secretary of Tourism pointed out that this is a unique offer that will attract both national and international tourist to the State of Campeche and solidify them as leaders in the Peninsula with a home port cruise route which includes three of the five states that make up the Ruta Maya world including Havana, Cuba.

The coastal town of Champotón, less than 20 minutes from the Turquoise Coast Beachfront Lots, has recently renovated it´s colonial town center, parkways, hospitals, and marinas in a cooperative effort to prepare the town as a home port cruise destination located on the Gulf of Mexico. The town center has been completely re-painted in a colorful pastel fashion similar to Campeche´s Old City center with cobblestone streets and pictorial facades.

Additional developments in the Champotón area include the new Jack Nicklaus signature course, Spa and Marina. It is only a short time that even further infrastructure and development will come to this warm enchanted vacation destination.
