Warrior Group CFO Betty Floyd Recognized

Sept. 20, 2011 - PRLog -- Betty Floyd, chief financial officer of Warrior Group, is one of 21 finalists in the Dallas Business Journal’s annual CFO of the Year recognition program. A panel of past honorees and industry representatives selected the finalists based on their contributions to their companies, to the finance profession and to the Dallas and Fort Worth communities.

Floyd has been CFO of Warrior Group, a DeSoto-based general contractor that serves public and private commercial construction customers, since 2006. She has been a driving force behind improvements in many facets of the company, including credit rating, human resources and internet technologies. Floyd’s focus on risk management, process improvement and controls enabled Warrior Group to increase in annual revenues by five times within two years of her joining the company.

Betty Floyd’s financial guidance and management has enabled Warrior Group to become one of the leading construction companies offering permanent modular construction (PMC) and enabled the company to play a major role in the transformation of the PMC industry as a whole. The company is a leader in the Modular Building Institute, the key industry trade group, and constantly promotes the monetary, environmental and quality benefits of PMC. As a result of Warrior Group’s innovation, PMC is an evolved construction method that rivals site-only construction in durability, lifespan and appearance and also offers many green, sustainable features. Floyd contributes to the North Texas community by leading the organizing committee for the annual Celebrity Golf Tournament benefiting the Heat of a Warrior Foundation (HOAW). This event is a major fundraiser for HOAW. To date, four Celebrity Golf Tournaments have attracted more than 150 golfers each year and raised more than $300,000 for the foundation. The mission of HOAW is to help less advantaged children overcome learning loss during the summer months.

“Research has determined that the lack of high-quality activities and educational studies causes students, especially in lower-income households, to fall behind after the summer break,” said Warrior. “Every summer, HOAW sponsors the Young Warrior Learning Institute to provide disadvantaged students with hands-on tutoring to help them improve their basic skills in math, science and language and also provides enrichment field trips that add to their quality-of-life experiences. Betty works tirelessly each year to make the Celebrity Golf Tournament, the main fundraiser for HOAW, a great success.”

The finalists and winners of the CFO of the Year program will be celebrated at a luncheon on October 20 at the Hyatt Regency Dallas.
