PRLog - Sep. 16, 2011 - CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Small Hands Big Art, a South Charlotte children's art studio, announces plans to offer after school art classes at Covenant Presbyterian Church starting October 3, 2011. The classes are open to children in grades K -5 and will take place at the Covenant Presbyterian Church Recreation Center, located at 1000 East Morehead Street, Charlotte, NC, in the Dilworth / Myers Park neighborhoods.
The after school art enrichment classes will be offered weekly on Mondays from 4:30 – 5:30pm, starting Monday, October 3, 2011, and classes run in six week sessions. Children are welcome to join a session in progress at a pro-rated discount. Participants do not need to be a member of the church to join the art program.
In the mixed media classes children will explore painting, drawing, 3D sculpture, collage, assemblages & printmaking. Children will have plenty of opportunity to work independently as well as to collaborate on fun group projects.
“When it comes to fostering children's creativity, we believe that hands-on exploration with plentiful and appealing materials allows children to learn the elements of art such as shape, line, color, texture, form, space and value, as well as pattern and rhythm. Many of our projects expose children to famous artists and artistic movements throughout history. At the heart of everything we do, each child's unique creative vision and self-expression is valued and nurtured.” said Jennifer Bryant, owner of Small Hands Big Art.
