5 basic steps in creating a query

1.   Click on the Advanced Find button found in the top ribbon of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011

2.   Begin your advanced find by choosing a record type, (e.g. opportunities)

3.   Following the record type you complete your personalised advanced find by specifying the various fields (e.g.: “Estimated close date”, “this month”)

4.   Your search can go multiple layers deep, for example adding “Value”, “over
£100,000”

5.   Once your query is complete simply click on the results button to process your results; these can then be saved as a personal view and exported into an Excel file.
Dynamic Pivot Tables

The option of exporting to Excel allows the option of exporting to a dynamic pivot table, this will seamlessly pull data from Microsoft Dynamics CRM, keeping the Excel file constantly up to date with new and any amended records

Grouping query lines

The advanced feature guide further allows the user the ability to group query’ lines based on “OR” and “AND” function.

Group OR allows you to group query lines together by using “OR”. The results will include records or activities that match any of the grouped lines.

Group AND allows you to group query lines together by using “AND”. The results will include only records or activities that match all the grouped lines.
