Sept. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- When Susan and Ian Shutt moved to Reedley, near Burnley, they had already decided that their new kitchen was to be designed by Simon Thomas, designer at Kitchen Design Centre.

Simon had designed a designer kitchen in their previous home and they were so pleased with the original design that they wanted to use the company for a second time.

As soon as Susan and Ian were shown the simple, practical traditional German kitchen design at the Colne Showroom they instantly knew it was the right kitchen for them.

Simon Thomas, designer at Kitchen Design Centre, said: "I designed their last kitchen around six years, so I had already had a rough idea of what they wanted.

"The theme of this kitchen design was simplicity – with a spacious, light and airy feel.

"This was achieved through a combination of using traditional materials, clever lighting, and bright colours with plenty of space. All plumbing, plastering, electrics and flooring work was carried out by the team at Kitchen Design Centre."

Most impressive of all is the central island with the worktop made from solid Oak, its curved edges add to the cosy feel of the kitchen.

With two types of worktop in the designer kitchen, the couple can choose to work on either a granite or wooden surface.

The kitchen design includes some of the latest appliances from Britannia, Neff and Miele.

The couple were so happy with the Britannia cooker they had in their old kitchen, originally installed by Kitchen Design Centre, that they decided to have the same.

After discussing the options available with Simon they decided to specify a fantastic Gloss Black top of the range Sigma XG model for their new house.

This cooker is 'A rated', for energy efficiency, and has triple-glazed oven doors. The 6 zone induction top makes day-to-day living much simpler.

This teamed up with the matching Britannia Arioso hood, which features a built in sensor that detects steam, vapours, smoke and odours generated by cooking.

Susan said: "The traditional kitchen has a homely look, which fits in perfectly with the overall inviting feel of our house.

"Simplicity was the key to the design. But, equally, we wanted to make it easy-to-use and practical - where everything is in perfect reach."

Designer Simon Thomas said: "A well-designed designer kitchen is not only enjoyable visually, but it also encourages many of our clients to spend more time cooking and socialising with friends and family because they are such a joy to work in. This proves the kitchen is the heart of the home.

"Throughout the design process, the focus was on the simplicity and functionality of the kitchen design - and I spent time with the couple making sure they were completely happy with the final design."

Susan said: "We have twice opted to use Kitchen Design Centre and the result has been fantastic both times.

"We have recommended the company to several of our friends over the years and will continue to do so."
