Participation in a support group can be an empowering experience. The groups are designed to help members feel better prepared to cope with their unique situation. Support group members report feeling less alone, more able to confront their daily problems, and more hopeful about their future.
The Support Group at Dodge Park Rest Home is a safe place to learn, offer and receive helpful tips, and meet others coping with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. The Support Groups are facilitated by Elaine Kapperman LICSW, a trained professional and community member.
Support group members are typically the spouse, adult child, other family member or friend of someone with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia.
The atmosphere of the Dodge Park Rest Home Support Group is one of sharing and caring friendship. The environment is a confidential and non-judgmental place to share ideas, frustrations, anger and joy. Members receive positive reinforcement.
Refreshment will be provided. The next spousal support group will take place on Tuesday September 6, 2011. The next support group for children is on Tuesday September 13, 2011.

Dodge Park Rest Home is a licensed sixty (60) bed residential care home specialized in caring for the frails and those diagnosed with dementia and/or Alzheimer's disease in our community offering all the amenities of a modern facility. Licensed nursing staff and a medical director, who are available 24-hours a day / 7-days a week, allow Dodge Park to provide a very unique level of care for those who need more care but who are not yet ready for a nursing home.
Dodge Park Rest Home allows your loved one to stay as a resident when personal funds run out. (Many other facilities and assisted living in the area will not!!!). Your loved one’s stay at Dodge Park, once all money was spent down on care, will be paid by the EAEDC (Emergency aids to the elderly, disabled and children benefits). This important benefit does not exist in assisted living facilities nor the level of care at Dodge Park Rest Home. This benefit will give you a piece of mind that your loved one will be well cared for.
