Weaving a Web of Success with Nylon and Kydex

Using big corporation techniques and low cost internet technologies two small manufacturing firms, Strike Hard Gear and its joint venture partner Trojan Tactical, are hitting their targets and overcoming the bad economy.

Sept. 2, 2011 - PRLog -- Champlin MN - So how do two small businesses over 1,000 miles apart bootstrap their way to success during the “Great Recession”?  Strike Hard Gear and Trojan Tactical have forged a long distance strategy for helping each other grow their businesses and their bottom lines.

Strike Hard Gear caters to the tactical shooting segment of the multi-billion dollar shooting sports industry. Their focus has been high quality and innovative nylon accessories for rifles and it was time to expand their product line to include Kydex ( a moldable thermo-plastic) items for a niche segment of pistol owners.  “As a small company it’s almost impossible to get large suppliers to make small runs of highly specialized Kydex gear” remarked Todd Luebke, CEO of Strike Hard Gear. “Between development costs and large minimum order sizes I thought expansion of our product lines would have to wait, that’s when we found Trojan Tactical and knew we had someone willing to help us grow”

Trojan Tactical, an experienced maker of hand gun related products, is another small but growing business operated by two law enforcement officers from Alabama. Their daily use of concealed carry equipment and inroads with the law enforcement market gives them a unique perspective when developing gear with high reliability and high quality.  “When I started Trojan Tactical I had two primary goals for my company: To offer the best, most durable concealment gear available at affordable prices, and to provide an unmatched level of customer service to the people who use my gear. I quickly learned that Strike Hard Gear shared a very similar outlook, and it was a no brainer once we started talking about joining together in this venture.” commented John Baggett, owner of Trojan tactical. “Small businesses like ours are a major asset because we deal directly with our customers on a personal level to make sure their needs are met.”

As one would expect the internet and web technologies play a large part in the success of their long distance joint venture. Through link sharing and exclusive distribution agreements the two companies are able to leverage their marketing dollars and help satisfy online customer needs without being required to invest large sums for inventory.  “This really works out well for us and the customer. If we don’t have what they are looking for I can send them to Trojan Tactical and not worry about them buying a competing product. Everyone wins. ” said Luebke. Low cost internet based solutions also help both companies anticipate demand, satisfy customer orders and maintain good communication. Customer focus, innovation, and the smart use of technology infused with the entrepreneurial spirit once again trump the economic boogey man.
