Sept. 2, 2011 - PRLog -- New Author? Don't Make These Fatal Mistakes...

Many new authors leave the task of marketing their book solely to the publisher. This can be the kiss of death for your book and writing career!

If you are a new writer hoping to make it big this short article may serve you well.

Many new writers mistakenly believed that getting their work published, and in bookstores, would guarantee their success.

Unfortunately, nothing could be further from the truth.

Most bookstores will give your new work a 2 to 4 week "shot" at generating sales. If your book does not do well during that period of time it is relegated to the back of the store, and then the book graveyard.

This is a fact that most publishers tend not to emphasize to new writers. This is certainly understandable from their perspective because of the damage it may do to their sales.

This information will be helpful if:

- you are a new author
- you want to write a book
- you have already released a book that is not doing well

Publishing houses have more books than they can market successfully. This is where you risk getting "lost in the proverbial sauce"!

Bottom line. Don't leave it entirely up to your new publisher or distributor to pull the trigger on your fame and fortune.

Below is the link to my new book 'A Familiar Murder'.

If you purchase it through Amazon I will include two FREE bonuses that are almost certain to help your new book (or your existing book) drastically increase sales!

Here are the two bonuses you will receive for FREE when you purchase my book (at the Amazon.com link below). Note these are both digital (PDF) books that you will receive via email when you send your 'proof of purchase' receipt to: MTS206@verizon.net

BONUS #1

"How to write and publish your own books" shows you how to go from idea to completed book proposal in seven short days. Imagine, in seven days, you could be sending your proposal to agents and editors.

It includes everything you need to know. Just follow the easy step-by-step instructions. It even has a sample proposal, which got a contract from an agent immediately after it was received.

BONUS #2

How To Market Your Book

A published book does not guaranteed your success. Hopefully, you are not reading these words too late. Paying lots of money to publishers and distributors to get your work into bookstores does not clinch your success.

Many authors have discovered this fact the hard way.

Your book can die a lonely death on a bookstore shelf if you don't know how to market it. Never leave the task of marketing your book solely to the publisher. This is a fatal mistake that many new writers make.

This bonus report will show you what to do to make sure that your book is a financial success!

I wish you the very best success with your books!

M.T. Smith
