First Physician Group Joins White Plains Hospital Physician Associates

Father & son surgeons Carl, Philip and Kaare Weber and surgeon Kimberly Yee join the White Plains Hospital family.

Aug. 19, 2011 - PRLog -- White Plains, NY – White Plains Hospital recently welcomed White Plains Surgical Specialists, formerly known as Weber, Weber and Yee, to the White Plains Hospital family. Additionally, as of August 1st, surgeon Kaare Weber joined the group. The practice becomes the first member of White Plains Hospital Physician Associates, a newly formed division of the Hospital, developed with the intent of aligning local practicing physicians with the Hospital. This new venture enables physicians and the Hospital to share information, promote growth, best utilize resources and develop quality care to its fullest potential.

Carl Weber has been closely connected to the Hospital for decades and is a well-known and highly regarded surgeon in the region. A Purchase resident, he attended Cornell University and New York University. His surgical training was completed at Albert Einstein Medical Center, Yeshiva University in New York. In his more than 30 years in practice in Westchester County, Dr. Carl Weber has operated on thousands of patients and has earned a reputation as a skilled and compassionate surgeon.  

Dr. Philip Weber of Ardsley is a graduate of Brown University School of Medicine. He completed his surgical training at MCP Hahnemann University and is fellowship trained in minimally invasive and robotic surgery. Dr. Weber’s expertise includes minimally invasive surgery of the stomach and esophagus, as well as solid organs such as spleen and pancreas. Dr. Weber is also the director of the weight loss surgery program at White Plains Hospital.

Previously an attending surgeon at Mount Sinai Medical Center, Dr. Kaare Weber of Scarsdale joins his father and brother in the practice as of August 1.  He will also serve in an administrative role at White Plains Hospital, focusing on surgical quality initiatives. Dr. Kaare Weber earned his medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed a fellowship in advanced endocrine surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Weber’s surgical expertise is in the minimally invasive management of diseases of the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands.

Kimberly Yee of Ardsley joined the practice several years ago and has been quickly establishing herself as a leading colorectal surgeon in the area.  Dr. Yee graduated from the SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY and completed a General Surgery Residency and a Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellowship at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. She then completed a Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
In addition, the practice performs acute care surgery, complex hernia repairs as well as all aspects of wound care.
