Aug. 16, 2011 - PRLog -- (New York, NY) Local financial advisors, Richard Zeitz & Steven McGarrity of Bravias Capital Group LLC, have been awarded professional designation as a Registered Financial Consultant (RFC®).

This action was taken by the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants, a non-profit educational and professional organization established in 1984.

The coveted RFC designation is presented to financial advisors who meet seven criteria: Education, Examination, Experience, Ethics, Financial Licensure, Conduct and Continuing Professional Education.

The mission of the international organization is: “Financial professionals dedicated to helping people do a better job of spending, saving, investing, insuring and planning.”

A Registered Financial Consultant must maintain very high professional and ethical standards, plus certify the completion of a minimum of 40 hours of relevant continuing education each year.

According to the organization’s chairman, Edwin P. Morrow, RFC®, “In a society and economy of rapid change it is essential that a financial advisor be engaged in a continuous quest for knowledge and skills in order to properly serve the public.”

Richard Zeitz has been engaged in financial services since 1994 and Steven McGarrity has been engaged in financial services since 1998.  Both are locally associated with the independent wealth management firm, Bravias Capital Group LLC.
