By: Jennifer Smiga Fair Haven, NJ (August 11, 2011) – Since 2008 Small Factory Productions, located on 560 River Road, Suite C in Fair Haven, NJ, has helped build innovative minds through its award-winning children's arts and technology programs. This fall, the company launches Small Factory School of the Arts with an Open House of free activities and consultations on Saturday, September 10th from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. The Open House is an opportunity to meet Small Factory's professional team of educators, artists and musicians as throughout the day they engage children (3 months - age 12) in creative age-appropriate arts activities. Small Factory's Founder Chris Dudick holds a Masters Degree in Education from Monmouth University. Through his educational and work experiences he notes that educators and families may overlook the importance of the arts on a child's intellectual development. Small Factory's State Certified teachers have created exciting arts programming that meets NJ Core Content Standards for Language Arts, Literacy and Visual and Performing Arts. Students in classes at Small Factory's Fair Haven production studio and at more than 30 public and private schools across New York and New Jersey have improved, both academically and socially, thanks to Small Factory's unique curriculum. "The arts in schools are generally limited to an average of 45 minutes of instruction per week. This time includes setup and cleanup, leaving 20 minutes for children and teachers to explore the arts. There are many opportunities to create arts-rich curriculum," School of the Arts class highlights include, Create-a-Cartoon, Claymation, 2D and 3D Art, Sports Talk Radio, Music Lessons, Me and Momma Rock, Recording Lab Sessions, Computer and Video Game Animation, Creative Storytelling, Acting, Speech Therapy, Social Skills, and Kindergarten Enrichment. Small Factory educators also work extensively with special learners, teaching and guiding parents on strategies for learning. Many special needs children attending Small Factory's classes may be eligible to submit their tuition to their insurance companies for reimbursement. "Thanks to the hard work and patience of Small Factory's teachers, Luke's storytelling, creative thinking and detail in drawings far exceed my expectations," Children attending the Saturday, September 10th, 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. School of the Arts Open House will receive a complimentary Small Factory Flicks DVD (the complete second season), a free music class pass and 10% off class registration.
