The Travis Perkins Group Improves Customer Service with Jade Enterprise Mobility Solution

Highlighting how CCF Ltd (part of the Travis Perkins Group) has met the demands of its key customers and obtained competitive advantage through deployment of Jump, Jade’s mobility software platform.

Aug. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- Newton-Le-Willows, Merseyside, UK: 10 August 2011 – Jump, Jade's mobility software platform, helps CCF Ltd, part of the Travis Perkins Group, meet the demands of its key account customers by providing real-time visibility of CCF's delivery process, providing a distinct competitive advantage. The Travis Perkins Group is one of the leading suppliers to the UK's building and construction market and CCF is one of the top distributors of interior building products to the construction industry.

"One of our key objectives at CCF is to exceed customer expectations. The Jump solution helps us to achieve this by offering our customers an unrivalled delivery service," said Kieran Griffin, managing director, CCF. "Jump now allows us to provide our customers with real-time delivery details and electronic proof of delivery which is geo-tagged, date and time stamped. With complete visibility of our delivery process CCF now has the ability to accurately monitor our key performance indicators. CCF is the only specialist distributor to offer these new features and will be continuing to develop its capabilities in this area."

CCF chose to work with Jade not only because of its long standing provision of wireless infrastructure  and mobility solutions to companies within the Travis Perkins Group but because of its ability to provide a complete mobility solution.

Jade's complete solution includes up-front consultancy which identified CCF's enterprise mobility requirements, development of the Jump software to ensure that it met the mobility needs of CCF whilst offering the potential to expand the capabilities of the solution to meet the demands of other companies with the Group, advice, supply and configuration of the Motorola MC75 rugged mobile computers and Intermec PB51 mobile printers, full in-cab installation of the hardware and a full service and support contract.

"We were looking for a solution that allowed CCF to make further developments to meet changing requirements using in-house resources as well as being able to purchase software engineering to supplement internal capabilities. It was also crucial that the solution allowed for flexible integration between CCF and the Travis Perkins Group's existing IT infrastructure. Through Jump, Jade met these key requirements," added Griffin.

Griffin continued, "We also strive to make CCF a great place to work and with Jump, our delivery drivers have the latest delivery technology software running on their hand held mobile devices. They have seen a number of their daily paper tasks disappear, making them more efficient and their jobs more rewarding and satisfying. A real win-win for everyone."

Jump has replaced CCF's previous paper based delivery process which required drivers to work with printed manifests and obtain handwritten proof of delivery notes, which could not be reconciled with orders until they were returned to the branch office.

Now when CCF's drivers start work in the morning, they collect a MC75 and a PB51 and log on to the Jump solution and select the delivery vehicle they will be using. Jump then prompts the driver to carry out the necessary vehicle checks and once these are completed the driver has access to the planned delivery route which is presented in order of drops. The driver selects the first job and then views the manifest to see what deliveries are to be made and if there are any special delivery instructions.

As Jump integrates with ALK's CoPilot navigation software, recommended and deployed by Jade as part of the mobility solution, the driver is directed to each delivery drop. Jump enables the driver to confirm arrival and when the unloading process has been completed. Using the MC75, and PB51 the driver has the ability to print manifests to allow customers to check deliveries, electronically record any discrepancies or to take any images of the goods that may be necessary to provide evidence of any damage or proof of where goods have been unloaded.

"Jump provides us with accurate real-time data of when our drivers arrive at drops and when they leave. This visibility means that if a customer wants pre-delivery information we can now access this accurate real-time information through Jump's integration with our back office systems," explained Robin Proctor, supply chain director for the Travis Perkins Group. "Crucially, for us, once the unloading process has been completed the driver obtains an electronic signature which is then transmitted to CCF's back office systems. Confirmation of delivery details can then be made immediately available to our customers."

Travis Perkins is looking to roll out the CCF solution across its other companies. "The core solution will remain the same, however, the Jump software platform will allow us to tailor it as necessary to accommodate the specific mobility requirements of our various businesses," concluded Griffin.
