Georgetown Hospital System to Host Regional Health Screening on Sept. 9

Aug. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- Georgetown Hospital System’s Community Health Education Department will host a Regional Health Screening on Friday, September 9 at the Belin Memorial United Methodist Church Family Life Center in Murrells Inlet from 7:30 – 10:30 a.m.

The screenings are designed to provide greater community-wide access to health care resources and information.  

Health screenings to be offered include: hs-CRP (Cardiac Risk Assessment)-$25,  Chemistry Panel--$20, CBC w/differential--$20, TSH (Thyroid Screen)--$15, Hgb A1C for Diabetics--$15, PSA for Men--$15 and a variety of  other health screenings, including free blood pressure and osteoporosis screening.  Chemistry Panel tests require a 10-12 hour fast.  Universal medication forms, physician referral services, various community health vendors, and other health information will also be available.

Although not mandatory, advance completion of pre-registration materials is strongly encouraged. Pre-registration packets for the event are available at the information lobby areas of Georgetown Memorial Hospital and Waccamaw Community Hospital.  Persons who plan to participate in the Sept. 9 screenings should obtain one of the packets in advance, complete it and bring it to the event to expedite the process.
