Being based in a city sometimes difficult to rid the arts from politics, some ignorant to Asha's 'brand efforts' thought she may have held a double position with FCM Magazine while founding UR SuperModels. As UR's lead manager and artistic director, she submitted models and artists on a regular basis while occasionally posing as a creative confidant [quite normal] in sustaining a relationship with the digital and print fashion mag. It was the May 2011 invite that made what gossipers assumed, "official."
Speaking about interviewing Reggie Wells at The Makeup Show- a global event:
"Upon arrival, I was expecting a very formal display with an audience, a microphone, possible security, and ropes. Mister Wells was very hands on with make up consultations as women were lining up to purchase these easy to use carry friendly compacts," Asha explained. She went on noting, "I was honored that FCM recognized I could handle not only this assignment, but also the publishers' knowingly meticulous vision for its wide span readers."
While FCM and Asha Spacek share some similar fashion views, their paths end at selectively choosing events to cover and the sporadic opportunity for UR Artists at ursupermodels.com to be featured by the magazine's local, national, and international audience. Asha is honored to be a contributing freelance writer for FCM, and the option to submit models or in house artists, usually in styling, event photography, and makeup artistry.
Preparing for her second event story out in September, Asha was recently asked to fill in as lead fashion stylist for FCM's upcoming shoot with photographer Alessandro Mari coming from Italy, later this month. The early reviews of her August article, and official 'LIKE IT' from Reggie's publicist, may have had something to do with this upcoming opportunity.
