July 15, 2011 - PRLog -- The internationally recognized "Mt. Zion Male voice Choir" is coming to Philadelphia for a FREE CONCERT at Mother Bethel AME Church located at 419 South 6th Street on Thursday August 18, 2011 at 7pm.

The choir consists of some thirty (30) men who are dedicated and committed to encouraging men and their families to get involved with their church and the community; and to be a catalyst for change in the community. The "Mt. Zion Male voice Choir" annually presents summer open air Gospel concerts throughout the island of Bermuda, sponsored in part by the Bermuda Government, Ministry of Community Affairs and the business community. They also Minister in song to the Bermuda prison community and to sports clubs throughout the island. They are featured in churches, community events; municipal events; Government events etc.

They have recorded two CD albums and in 2009 and 2010 have the number one Gospel single hit recording “Grace Saved Me’ on the islands number one Gospel radio programme, “Gospel Train;” the first double hit in the history of Bermuda Gospel radio. The "Mt. Zion Male voice Choir's" repertoire includes southern & contemporary Gospel, Negro Spirituals, traditional Gospel, reggae gospel, and various music idioms that express their wide-ranging musical talents.

They have toured the USA in 2007; 2008; and 2009 from Dayton & Columbus Ohio, to New York & New Jersey and Richmond Virginia. They have been featured on local television and appeared on the international Gospel ‘Word’ Network with Dr. Tyrrell Brown of ‘Morning Star Baptist Church’ Richmond Va. USA. They also were the guest artist at the 103rd anniversary of Morning Star Baptist Church. They were featured at the 2008 Bermuda/USA ceremonies hosted by the Mayor of New Jersey honoring the association of New Jersey with Bermuda tourism, spanning many years.

They are at present presenting their fifth annual Gospel Concert series in Bermuda with attendances topping the 500 mark per night.

Mother Bethel A.M.E. Church was founded in 1794 by Bishop Richard Allen and is settled on the longest, continuously owned land by African Americans in the United States.

Overflow parking on Sunday's and for most special events at McCall Elementary School located at 325 South 7th Street across the street from the church. Lot is accessible from 7th Street, one half block north of Pine St.
