PRLog - Jul. 13, 2011 - Flip Educational Consulting, LLC has a few spaces left in their summer boys groups offered the weeks of July 17, 2011 in Cary, NC and August 1, 2011 in Raleigh, NC.  Visit their website at www.flipconsultants.com for details and registration information.  Flip recently completed their first summer group for girls with rave reviews and great success in helping the young girls begin the process of working toward being independent, self-assured teenagers.  The process of developing the skills necessary to be productive and successful social beings begin with the foundations of understanding different kinds of feelings and the subtleties of many types of feelings.
With continued coaching and practice children can improve the skills necessary to have successful interactions with peers and adults. Flip Educational Consulting, LLC continues to offer groups for boys and girls to begin the process of working on these skills in authentic social settings.  Elizabeth Worley, co-owner of Flip Educational Consulting, recently shared with a parent that, “When children go to basketball camp they learn new skills to improve their game. When they attend a Flip Educational Consulting group children learn skills to improve their social game.”  With the expert coaching of Flip consultants and their creative way of incorporating fun, camplike activities with intentional, authentic social interactions children are given opportunities to learn and practice specific social and emotional skills.
The Lionheart Project on Emotional Literacy reports, “The good news is that emotional literacy skills can be learned at any time in life. Becoming emotionally literate results in the ability to read one’s own feelings as well as the feelings of others. When people develop emotional literacy skills, they are better able to identify, express, and manage their feelings. There are greater options for effectively dealing with stress and tension. There is greater impulse control. There is heightened self-awareness and self-understanding. Social skills and the ability to communicate effectively are enhanced. Consequently, behaviors and attitudes that arise from emotional literacy support and reflect self-esteem, empathy, and appropriate action in the world.” www.lionheart.org
These social skills groups for children who find interacting with others difficult or uncomfortable were developed by two seasoned professionals Edla Prevette, M.Ed. and Elizabeth Worley, M.Ed.   They have integrated the work they do at Project Enlightenment and there many years of experience with school age students to create these groups.  The Flip Educational Consulting trainers have a wealth of experience teaching adults and provide a variety of trainings in Wake County and surrounding areas on supporting and managing children’s issues.
Flip Educational Consulting, focuses on helping children and adults reframe, rethink then refresh their perspectives; thus “flipping your thinking.”   The website describes an array of opportunities for children and adults to participate in groups and trainings to learn these valuable skills.  All of the groups and trainings provided by Flip Educational Consulting, LLC are individually created to accommodate the needs of the participants.
