Teradata CTO to present new insights on the rising demand for consumer intelligence

July 11, 2011 - PRLog -- MONACO, Monte Carlo The chief technology officer of Teradata Corporation , the world’s largest company solely focused on data warehousing and enterprise analytics, Stephen Brobst will appear as a guest speaker at MicroStrategy World 2011, 11- 14 July at Hotel Fairmont, Monte Carlo.  In his presentation, ‘The (R)evolution from Business Intelligence to Consumer Intelligence,’ Stephen will discuss the business impact of rising consumer demand to make decisions using intelligence drawn from data.

The proliferation of mobile devices has created a new consumer mindset, with unprecedented demand for access to data to inform personal decisions. The business impact of this new behaviour is the need to provide easy to use, yet sophisticated consumer intelligence capabilities through direct access to stored data. At MicroStrategy World, Stephen will discuss the implications for data warehouse deployment in this new world and illustrate leading-edge case studies in the delivery of consumer intelligence.

Prior to his presentation, Stephen commented, “Historically, data warehouses have been constructed to provide intelligence to business knowledge workers within large enterprises. What we are now seeing is the first infiltration of consumerisation into this world. As with many other technology categories, developments created through this process may occur so fast that evolutionary change can appear to be a revolution.”

A member of Barack Obama’s science and technology council, Stephen is known for his expertise in the use of data for business intelligence.  This will be the first time he has spoken on how the proliferation of mobile devices is transforming consumer behaviour and the demand for data and his presentation is expected to provide new and valuable insight into how businesses can benefit from this powerful and disruptive trend. Stephen will share the stage with Jeff Bedell, chief technology officer and executive vice president, MicroStrategy Inc.

MicroStrategy World 2011, which is the annual user conference of Teradata partner, MicroStrategy, has been designed to provide an opportunity to discuss and learn more about the business impact of key trends, such as ubiquitous mobility, the continued rise of social networking and cloud computing, and the explosion in data that they have created.
