July 1, 2011 - PRLog -- With the use of the latest techniques in veterinary medicine, our highly trained staff provides complete medical and surgical care for all your pets.  Our philosophy is to work with our clients to keep their animals healthy, and we suggest regular preventive care, which avoids many potentially serious problems.

The satellite clinic of the Wignall Animal Hospital, Lowell Veterinary Clinic is a full service veterinary clinic located next to the Lowell Humane Society.  Offering many of the same services as her big sister, the Lowell Vet Clinic is a great choice for the city and college crowds.

Both the Wignall Animal Hospital and the Lowell Veterinary Clinic are proud to be the veterinary service providers for the Lowell Humane Society.  "We greatly appreciate the services provided by the Lowell Veterinary Clinic and Wignall Animal Hospital for our dogs.  The services offered are generously discounted and help us in our mission to end pet overpopulation and promote responsible pet ownership", says The Lowell Humane Society.  "Both Hospitals offer a full range of services for every life-stage of your pet including doggie daycare and overnight boarding at Wignall Animal Hospital."

Should the need arise, we can offer the services of 3 area specialists to keep your pets feeling their best.  Dr. David Abdinoor is a full time veterinary orthopedic/soft tissue surgeon.  Dr. Paul Kaplan performs complete ultrasounds and endoscopic exams.  Dr. Laura Levan can keep your pets teeth looking there whitest using advanced techniques in dental care, such as root canals, capping, and crowning.

For most people, pets have become more like a member of the family rather than just an animal.  In order to keep them as happy and healthy as possible, we recommend routine annual physical examiniations and vaccinations.  For those pets in their golden years we recommend along with routine exams and vaccinations, annual geriatric work ups including bloodwork and other laboratory testing.

While you're away, allow us to take care of your kids.  Our well-managed boarding facility can provide them with all of the "creature comforts" of home.  Our kennel staff works hand-in-hand with the doctors and technicians to make your pets vacation safe and enjoyable.  Tours of our beautiful boarding area are available upon request.

To keep your K-9 friends looking their best, we offer a full grooming service through Wignall Day Spa.  The day spa staff can buff and polish any size kid, from the smallest Chihuahua to the largest Newfoundland.  Cat grooming is also available.

Wignall Animal Hospital and Lowell Veterinary Clinic are happy to offer clients different ways to pay for veterinary care, grooming, boarding, and daycare services.  Payment in full is expected when services are rendered, either via cash, check, or credit card.  We know that you want the very best for your pet for routine well visits and screenings, as well as sick visits, treatments, and surgeries.  For any service, the option of payment plans is always available to you..

Payment Plans
We are pleased to offer the convenience of interest-free payment plans through the General Electric company, Care Credit.  Care Credit offers a convenient, low minimum monthly payment program to help you accept the best treatment recommendations for your pets.  Application and processing takes only 5 minutes and an approval decision is received wihthin seconds right here at Wignall.  We will assist you with this quick, easy process - all done right here with you - which makes the health care decision for your pet just as easy.

Pet Insurance
Pet Insurance is becoming more and more popular as pet owners realize how they - and their pets - can benefit from the advantages of pet insurance coverage.  We have information available for coverage provided by VPI and the ASPCA, and recommend that insurance be purchased when your pet is a puppy or kitten, in order to gain the most benefit.

Our Care Commitment
Our entire Veterinary Team is committed to providing the very best veterinary care, services and products available in the Greater Lowell area.  We pledge to stay on the leading edge of veterinary medicine technology; surgial, diagnostic and treatment skills; behavior management and pet recreation; client and patient services; and client financial services and programs.  And we pledge always to treat your furry "kids" as if they were our own.

You will notice 5 Care Commitment Themes on your visit to Wignall Animal Hospital which are representative of our committment to you and your pets.  These are Preventative Medicine, Dental Health, Senior Pet Health, Weight Management / Weight Loss, and Client Education.

Preventative Medicine
The advances in human medicine have enabled tremendous strides in veterinary medicine.  The result is greater knowledge about animal development, the prevention of progressive and life threatening illnesses and diseases, and state of the art monitoring and diagnostic equipment.  Vaccinations, annual or bi-annual physical examinations, routine bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal testing, and preventative medications all enable your pet to avoid damaging illnesses and diseases and/or be diagnosed in time to allow for early medical intervention which reduces the likelihood of more damage later in your pet's life.

Dental Health
The emergence of pet tooth brushing, dental check-ups, dental cleanings, healthy diet and treats and tooth-healthy toys once came as a shock to pet owners.  As more of us become aware of the pet health risks associated with poor dental health, we understand how we can avoid costly and painful dental procedures by providing good preventative dental home care to our pets.

Senior Pet Health
Improved pet diets and progressive veterinary care allow pets to live longer and healthier lives.  This means that Senior Pets (aged 7 and older), just like their human counterparts, require special attention and a different approach.  Joint Pain, Diabetes, Urinary Disorders, Weight Management, Dental Health, and Thyroid Disorders are some typical Senior Pet health issues that are addressed to provide the best quality of life possible.

Weight Management / Weight Loss
Many of us do not realize the health risks and complications of being an overweight pet.  An overweight pet is more likely to develop diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease and joint problems.  We offer weight loss programs, special diets, and support from our veterinary staff.

Client Education
A cornerstone of our practice is providing the opportunity for our clients to learn more about their pet's health and care.  Our Client Education Center is filled with educational information and we host free client education events year round.  We want to be "Veterinary Care Information Central" for all of our clients and we invite you to share in the education experiences available at our hospital.  We welcome your suggestions for anything that would provide better client education at Wignall Animal Hospital.
