Hailing from the South Bay, Local Label Faire found its roots in San Jose, CA where local store owner, Marie Millares of The Usuals, ran small trunk shows featuring products from local brands. “The trunk shows grew quickly with each iteration. We started with two jewelry makers showcasing their recent collections. At the next event, we picked-up ten vendors--then twenty at the next. By January of 2011, we had the opportunity to take it into a larger venue with 60 vendors. The response was amazing,” said organizer Marie Millares. In response to the growing demand for local goods, Local Label partnered with Moveable Feast hoping to bring a unique homegrown shopping and food experience to the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area.
Moveable Feast: San Mateo is scheduled to run 5:30p to 10:00p on first Fridays of the month, starting on July 1st. Local Label Faire is participating on July 1st only. Admission is free.
