Press Release: In an effort to reduce traffic in Los Angeles on the upcoming July weekend when the 405 will be shut down.... the local environmental media reporter of Los Angeles is urging the public to help her celebrate her decade without owning a vehicle in auto-centric LA, by taking one CAR FREE weekend. Encouraging them to bike, walk, take public transportation for "kicks" and creative carpooling if absolutely necessary.

takes the Big Blue Bus #1 to get to Santa Monica Blvd and #2 to get to Wilshire and Abbot Kinney

"Green T" has been living car free in autocentric LA since 2001. She roller-blades two miles to work to Santa Monica City TV 16, where she does positive community news.
Since 2005, she has been co-hosting a Los Angeles TV show, "Metro Motion" which is all about LA traffic, the environment, carpooling, parking and traffic congestion:

Tamara Henry aka "Green T" walked the EMA Awards green carpet in 2007 and 2009 when she launched her 'Green Is Gorgeous' Interactive Eco-Contest for the 2010 Miss America Pageant.  Tamara and her eco-biz partner Kevin Carr (ironic last name) also worked as media and produced a video which became part of their award winning web series: http://www.youtube.com/greentwithtamara
As a member of the Alliance for Women in Media she is taking the car free message to the public via the world wide web and local television.

This year "Green T" is celebrating her amazing 10-years living "Car Free" in Los Angeles at many venues including the Go Green EXPO, the Environmental Media Association Awards and other venues and events. Tamara truly walks the talk in Environmental New Media as she hosts a TV show here in Los Angeles called "Metro Motion."  An Eco Transpo show which promotes mass transit, carpooling, Green Trivia and biking... Tamara has been co-hosting since 2005, produced for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit Authority and airing throughout the greater Los Angeles region.

Henry's first job before becoming a broadcaster was in PR for $35,000 a year in Little Rock for an ad agency where she peddled Apple computers in the 90s
to kids who saved their Harvest Foods grocery story receipts and recycled them for school computers. Henry finds it sustainable (REDUCE/REUSE/RECYCLE) that she does her own PR, while walking uphill in the snow both ways!
