Brüel & Kjær launches construction site noise and vibration monitoring

PRLog - June 20, 2011 - ROYSTON, U.K. -- Vibration from large construction projects can present a significant risk of damage to nearby property. Along with noise, vibration also has the potential to cause nuisance in the community, by triggering complaints.

If not managed properly then both can cause delay, increased project cost and potential litigation. To help construction industries overcome this, Brüel & Kjær has launched its Construction Sentinel service which can reduce project risk by continuously monitoring noise and vibration.

The service operates via the internet so it may be accessed on-site, in an office or anywhere there is an internet connection. It sends automatic alerts from noise or vibration exceedances - with all the necessary information - directly to users allowing them to immediately investigate any noise exceedance, before a breach occurs.

Construction Sentinel is part of Brüel & Kjær’s Noise Sentinel family of subscription services for long-term, unattended outdoor monitoring - making it ideal for continuous monitoring of noise or vibration on large building projects.

With the subscription service all the hassle construction companies typically face, such as instrument provision, installation, operation, data capture, records management, calibration and fault rectification is handled by Brüel & Kjær, allowing the construction company freedom to concentrate on their construction project.
