June 6, 2011 - PRLog -- After the immense success of the Apple iPhone 3GS, Apple launched the next version of the iPhone brand in the form of the iPhone 4 in June 2010. However, the company would have not seriously thought about this phone becoming an even greater success than the original Apple iPhone, but that was exactly what happened when it was launched. People stood in long queues outside Apple stores around the world and it soon become a great phenomenon. Part of this reason has to be the fact that the iPhone 4 is the first major revamp since the launch of the original Apple iPhone in 2007.

Not only did it bring huge changes to the design of the phone, but also laid the path for the occurrence of latest technologies in the mobile phone industry. The design of the phone is also something that made the iPhone 4 the best looking iPhone so far. The phone was much thinner than the iPhone 3GS, which was also helped by the presence of the glass and plastic body. The phone came with an aluminium strip that ran across the body, while also acting as the antenna for the phone. The usage of the retina display technology within the 3.5 inch unit made the whole difference with regard to the display department. The retina display technology allowed the phone to display a maximum of 960 by 640 pixels in terms of the resolution, which was never seen before in the industry.

This allowed the greater pixel density that made text and images much sharper than they would have been initially. It was the single biggest difference that you can see on the new iPhone when compared with the iPhone 3GS. The phone also offered 32 GB and 16 GB memory options internally, which were much better than the memory offered by the iPhone 3GS. Not only did the phone bring about the change in the memory used for the entertainment purposes, but also the memory used for running the phone itself. It is now offered 512 MB of memory for the RAM, which made the phone incredibly powerful in terms of performance. It was also helped by the presence of a 1 GHz single core processor in the phone, which provided the ability to run the Apple iOS 4.2, which came with the multitasking facility.

This was the first time that multitasking was available as an option in the iPhone and it was partly down to the powerful processor. Apart from this, the presence of the Facetime application and the secondary VGA camera allowed the phone to make free video calls around the world using the Wi-Fi connectivity option in the phone. The 16 GB iPhone 4 is currently the most popular version of the iPhone and it continues to be sold in the United Kingdom, despite the anticipated arrival of the next version. The contract prices for this phone start at around £ 40 per month, with a number of manufacturers offering it.
