New release of CORENA iSpec2200 6.0.1 provides integrated support for iSpec 2200 and S1000D

June 1, 2011 - PRLog -- CORENA, a global leader in S1000D software and implementation services, announced today the release of Version 6.0.1 of its CORENA iSpec2200 software. This latest release merges CORENA iSpec2200 with CORENA S1000D to provide a single integrated solution for authoring and publishing both data formats.

CORENA iSpec2200 6.0.1 provides functionality for import and export of program/model configurations, the ability to configure manuals, Business Rules management, Workflow configuration, and user access and privilege management. The CORENA iSpec2200 solution also includes effectivity management based on the S1000D applicability model (ACT/PCT/CCT) and provides AMTOSS (Aircraft Maintenance and Task Oriented Support System) management capabilities to ensure code uniqueness.

In addition, the release includes transfer package capabilities for importing and exporting entire manuals or parts of manuals and planning capabilities that include “book plan” management, caution/warning pool support, illustration management, “where used” reporting, work assignment and status.

Because a single system is used to manage both S1000D and iSpec 2200 formats natively in XML and SGML respectively, the need for data conversion and data filters is eliminated. And because a common user interface is used to support both formats, the solution facilitates content reuse and a high degree of automation.

CORENA iSpec2200 6.0.1 was timed to coincide with major new releases of CORENA S1000D (S1000D Common Source Data Base), CORENA PAGE (for PDF book generation), and CORENA IPC (for Illustrated Parts Data generation from a database). Demonstrations of CORENA iSpec2200 6.0.1 will be provided on June 7/8 at the upcoming ATA eBusiness and S1000D User Forum in Montreal, Quebec.
