PRLog - May 19, 2011 - CHICAGO -- New dabong! Card Game Delivers Speed, Strategy and Fun

The ultimate card game featuring three skill levels that combine rules from traditional card games with non-traditional twists

CHICAGO - May 19, 2011 – While online and digital gaming has taken off over the years, card games provide a more personal alternative at family gatherings, parties, long road trips, camping trips and more.  No wireless connection required, dabong! is a new card game from Astute Games that is perfect for modern-day game enthusiasts who like fast-paced and action packed competition.

Now available to retailers and consumers nationwide, dabong! is unlike any other game on the market.  It combines aspects of traditional card games like poker, blackjack and crazy eight’s with various non-traditional twists such as playing multiple cards on your turn, using addition, subtraction, blackjacks, flushes and more.

“In today’s multi-tasking, fast-paced world, many game enthusiasts are tired of boring, slow games that only allow you to play one card at a time,” said John Cooper, President and CEO of Astute Games.  “dabong! is a more exciting and relevant choice for today’s gamer.”

Created by several PhD professors at Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and their card playing aficionado friend, dabong! has been refined, tested and refined again over the past seven years.  “These professors continuously played the game with their college students and invented new plays and rules each time.  They were finally able to reach the perfect combination of speed, complexity, and fun,” said Cooper.

dabong! features three levels of play – beginner, intermediate and master.  Beginner is simple enough for a child aged seven or older to understand, while still challenging players at any age.  Each level provides more card playing options while introducing elements of well-known traditional card games.  dabong! can also be personalized based on the occasion and/or the players involved by changing the skill level, scoring options and even creating unique rules.

Several reviews are still pending, but dabong! is already being hailed as "addictive,” “inventive” and “engaging" for “adults and adolescents alike” according to various reviews on Amazon.com. Said one reviewer, "If you enjoy the old time games of Crazy Eights, UNO, and such, dabong! is the next step up because it utilizes bits and pieces of these other games as well as adding other exciting rules that no card game has seen before.”

Retailers can purchase dabong! wholesale from game distributors, Best of Best, Lion Rampant Imports, or directly from Astute Games by calling (888) 815-9456.  The game is also available to consumers online at Amazon.com and in select retail locations across the U.S.
