Top Safety Pick 2011 Hyundai Equus Available at Florida Dealership

The luxury sedan rated "Good" (the industry’s highest rating) in all crash protection safety categories including front, side, rollover, and rear.

Equus, named after the Latin word for "horse," also passed IIHS's roof strength test for rollover protection, withstanding a force equal to 4.87 times the car's weight. Vehicles with a strength-to-weight ratio of four or higher earn a "Good" rating in the Institute's test. By comparison, the current federal standard is 1.5 times weight, Hyundai said in a press release.

"This recognition confirms that the Equus truly is a desirable luxury vehicle with quality engineering and world-class safety features."

The seats are plush and comfortable, and the headliner is made from Alcantara suede, just like that in an S65 AMG. The 2011 Hyundai Equus even has French stitching on the leather-wrapped dash.

The 2011 Hyundai Equus is built on Hyundai’s world-class rear-wheel-drive architecture. It is powered by the award-winning 4.6-liter Tau® V8. The Tau inside the Equus will produce an estimated 385 horsepower using premium fuel and 378 horsepower using regular fuel. With technology rivaling more expensive luxury sedans, Equus showcases features such as a lane departure warning system, electronic air suspension, smart cruise control and a Lexicon® audio system.   The owner’s manual has also been replaced with an iPad.
