Tweeks Cycles Announces Title Sponsorship of Etape Cymru 2011 Cycling Sportive

April 26, 2011 - PRLog -- Wrexham, North Wales, 20th April 2011 – Tweeks Cycles, a leading cycling retailer have announced that they are the title sponsor of the brand new Etape Cymru 2011 cycling sportive which is due to be run 9th October 2011 and is only the UK’s second fully closed road cycle event. The event will be held across the public roads of North Wales with an expected 3500 cycling enthusiasts participating.

Organised by K-Extreme Ltd, the Etape Cymru has been backed by the Wrexham and Denbighshire Councils alongside the Welsh Assembly and North Wales Tourism. The course comprises of 100 miles of closed public roads that will take the cyclists through some of the most popular routes and climbs in Wales including the Horseshoe Pass, the Shelf, the Garth and Worlds End.

The only other UK closed road cycle sportive is the Etape Caledonia based in Scotland which attracts thousands of cycling enthusiasts and places in the event are highly sought after. Etape Cymru will offer cyclists south of the Scottish border the opportunity to compete in an event of this type which has been hugely popular in many European countries for a number of years.

Tweekscycles.com were approached by the organisers of the event with a view to sponsoring the event and were later named as the ‘Title Sponsor’ of the Etape Cymru.
