Musical Comedy Sister Duo Vickie & Nickie Are Back For One Night Only In "Inside Vickie & Nickie!"

The multi-instrumental, singing suburban housewife sister duo from Minnesota are played by native New Yorkers and real life sisters, Lisa and Lori Brigantino who have been performing together since they were children, but created the characters of Vickie and Nickie only 7 years ago.  During the course of their shows the sisters intertwine pop and original songs with dialogue, improv and audience participation all while accompanying themselves on many different instruments including acoustic guitars, electric guitar, keyboard, accordion, saxophone, violin, ukuleles, percussion and more.  The Brigantino sisters premiered Inside Vickie & Nickie! last July and had several performances in NYC as well as at The Foothills Performing Arts Center in Oneonta, NY.  This past December, they premiered their new holiday show Vickie & Nickie’s Holiday Sleigh Ride! to a sold out house at Don’t Tell Mama.  The Brigantino sisters have written and performed nine full shows including: Vickie & Nickie’s Sizzlin’ Summer Spectacular! which played to sold out houses in New York City and The Vickie & Nickie Dream Tour! which had very successful runs in NYC at Upstairs at Rose’s Turn and The Duplex.  In addition, Vickie and Nickie have made appearances in many well-known variety and comedy shows in NYC including most recently Kim Smith’s Vauxhall Kabarett at Vlada, Danny Leary’s Variety Extravaganza at Comix, The Talent Show Brand Variety Show at The Gershwin Hotel, Danny Leary’s popular On the Rocks weekly variety show at the Duplex (a Time Out NY critics pick), Becky Donohue and Danny Leary’s The Cocktail Show at Don’t Tell Mama, The Huxley Vertical Presents: Brave New Kabaret at the Triad and “The Rocha Dance Theatre’s Glamour Bash at the Galapagos Art Space in Dumbo, Brooklyn.

Lori (Vickie) holds a Major in Theatre and a Minor in Music from SUNY Fredonia and is a graduate of The William Esper Studio’s Meisner Actor Training Program.  She has also studied acting with Suzanne Shepherd.  Her credits include “The Last Nickel” at The NYC International Fringe Festival, “Trials & Fibs” Off Broadway at The Soho Playhouse and several Off-Off Broadway plays and independent films.  Lori is a member of the Actor’s Equity Association and MAC.  Lisa (Nickie) is a classically trained composer and professional musician with a Master of Music in composition & theory from SUNY Fredonia.  She writes for dance, theater, film and TV and most recently wrote a National TV spot for Plato’s Closet and the score for the short film “Game Night”.  Lisa released her second critically acclaimed CD “Wonder Wheel” in June 2010. Lisa was a founding member of the all girl rock band, Lez Zeppelin, and toured internationally with the band, playing bass, keyboards and mandolin.  They released their self-titled debut CD in 2007, recorded and produced by legendary engineer/producer, Eddie Kramer.  She is a member of SESAC, NARAS, The Songwriters Guild of America and serves on the advisory board of Women In Music, Inc.
