The Light Bulb Finder app enables Sprint customers to lessen environmental impact and counteract the rising cost of electricity with energy-efficient lighting. The app helps users find energy-saving light bulbs with the right style, light quality and performance.
Based on a few simple inputs about fixtures and current incandescent bulb styles, Light Bulb Finder recommends energy-saving equivalents and shows the price, financial payback and environmental impact. The average U.S. household using the app to make the switch to energy-efficient lighting can save over $120 a year on energy bills.
Users can buy recommended bulbs directly through the app or refer to the customized shopping list on their Android device when shopping at local retailers. To encourage friends and neighbors to save energy, the app includes an option to post energy savings and carbon footprint reduction to Facebook.

Sprint’s leadership in environmental sustainability continues to receive accolades. Sprint was also ranked highest among the wireless carrier industry on the Carbon Disclosure Project’s “Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index.” In addition, Sprint received the “Sustainability Leadership Award” at the 2010 International Electronics Recycling Conference and Expo for its leadership among wireless carriers in the recycling of mobile handsets.
