Gomez has a lot of momentum propelling him heading into the 150-lap NAPA Auto Care sponsored event. First, he has been hot so far this season. Second, he has completed 99.6% of all laps contested since the beginning of last season (leading all competitors) "I have been looking forward to Roseville for a long time," Gomez said. "We are so much more prepared, focused, and ready this season then we were last year. Craig Raudman and the entire crew have worked hard preparing our short track cars and we feel we have a great shot this weekend." Qualifying is always key in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series but especially on a short track like All American where passing is at a premium and usually at the expense of someone else. "We just need to qualify in the top five and keep our nose clean." Gomez has made three series starts at All American Speedway scoring one top ten finish and completing 455 of 460 laps contested. Gomez will be pulling double duty this weekend by also completing in the SPEARS SRL Southwest Series event. Gomez is the defending SRL champion and looking to rebound after a mechanical issue sidelined his effort in round one two weeks ago. Gomez has two career SRL starts at All American Speedway with one top five and two top ten performances. "Just like last season, we plan on getting as much seat time as possible and the SRL series is a great series to compete in," Gomez offered. "All the drivers are really good and guys like M.K. Kanke and Jim Pettit race you really hard and give you no slack. It has really made me a better driver. I am looking forward to the race." Gomez currently sits second in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series championship standings after his second place finish at Phoenix, just 15-points behind point leader Greg Pursley. Jonathon Gomez is supported by Heritage Cattle Company, Century Boatland, J&C Custom Harvesting, United Oil, Modern Machinery, DJ Safety, and Gomez Farms. Jonathon Gomez is the 2010 SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour Champion. Gomez is also a winner on the CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series and in the Mustang Challenge Series at Miller Motorsports Park. The first 20 cars will qualify through two-lap time trials. The remaining four spots will be awarded through the provisional process. The race will be 150 laps (50 miles). Last Year’s Event Paulie Harraka edged Jonathon Gomez in a two-lap dash to the finish to win last year’s spring race at All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif. The two young drivers went wheel-to-wheel on several occasions during the race, before Harraka eventually prevailed. Harraka started from the pole, while Gomez started on the outside of the front row. They swapped the lead of the race four times, with Harraka leading 125 of the 160 laps. He won by a margin of .569 seconds. Gomez crossed the finish line in second, but was later penalized to last place due to a faulty shock. # # # DJS Sports Marketing is a full service public relations and marketing company specializing in the motorsports industry.
