April 8, 2011 - PRLog -- Secret Millionaire David Jamilly has penned a "warts 'n all" autobiography about his rise to success.

The man behind the multi-million-pound events empire Theme Traders wrote Party People after more than two decades of throwing some of the capital's biggest and most spectacular VIP events.

The 202-page paperback provides a "rare glimpse" of the man behind a string of A-listers' parties.

The book, released through Indepenpress, will be officially launched at this year's London Book Fair, which runs from April 11 - 13.

Jamilly hit the headlines last year after appearing in a special edition of Channel 4's "Secret Millionaire".

But he is best known for his involvement in lavish parties for the likes of Virgin, Iron Maiden and the Queen for her 80th birthday celebrations in 2006.

The self-made millionaire admits the book – his debut work – has been a "long time coming", but said: "I'm a party person, literally, so finding the time and patience to put pen to paper and write Party People wasn't easy.

"I'm over the moon to finally see it in print."

Jamilly began building his business empire at the age of 15.

Despite leaving school with no qualifications, he quickly learnt the "nuts and bolts" of event planning by organising children's parties and founding POD, a charity that has entertained over half a million children in hospitals and hospices around the country.

He went on to establish Theme Traders – the multi-national party planning business which hosts the largest stock of specialist props in Europe – in London with his sister Kim in 1990.

Jamilly says the book "lifts the lid" on his 21-year career and provides insider tips on event planning and the celebrity circuit.

"Working in the exciting, ever-changing world of parties isn't a job, it's a lifestyle, and I never stop feeling privileged to be part of it" he said.

"Through Theme Traders, Kim and I have learned a fantastic amount about business, parties and ourselves and it's a real buzz to be able to pass on some of the knowledge in this book."

Jamilly will launch the title at this year's London Book Fair, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, with a champagne reception on April 11th.
