A movie version was to be produced by James Cameron and directed by Guillermo Del Toro, but with the cancellation of that project, SJS will produce a film adaptation as well as the audio book. Co-founder Carrie Cain Sparks says "At The Mountains of Madness audio book is of great interest to me because Tom Cruise was set to star, and our version is very entertaining. Producing audio books is a lot of work but it is worth the effort with the creation of so many jobs. The audience is asking for audio. We are giving them the audio they demand. There are so many advantages to having audio along with your e-book. Having a soothing voice read stories to you while you get through that stack of laundry or dishes is a life changer. You don’t always have the time to devote to reading a book even if it is downloaded onto a reader, its still a book.
