| Stepinac Names Mother of the YearEileen Dolan Henderson of White Plains Named Stepinac High School’s Mother of the Year
By: Frank Pagani Mrs. Henderson was cited for her numerous volunteer activities in supporting Stepinac. She has been an active member of the Lady Crusaders and had served as its treasurer for three years. In addition, she co-chaired the Alumni Mothers Brunch, Graduation Mass and Receptions, volunteered at many Open Houses and Casino Nights. As hockey team manager, she coordinated all fund-raising including the hockey dinner and also served as team treasurer. Born in Bronxville, she attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and Our Lady of Victory High School, both in Dobbs Ferry, New York, and received her B.S. Degree in Mathematics from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She is part of a highly extended Stepinac family. Her husband, Michael, is an alum (Class of ’77) as are three of her five children: Michael (‘05), who also attended Vanderbilt and currently works for UBS; Patrick (‘07), a student at Tulane University and Seamus (‘08), who works at Healy Electric. Eileen’s brother, Chris is a Stepinac alum (’78) as well as her three brothers-in- Her two daughters, Carrigan, graduated from School of the Holy Child, Rye (‘10) and is a freshman at Miami University in Ohio and Mary is a sophomore at the School of the Holy Child. Her son, Patrick, has helped coach the Stepinac football team and her son, Michael, is currently the school’s varsity hockey coach. In 2008, she and her husband were awarded the “In Te Domine Speravi” Award at graduation for their service to Stepinac. Eileen and her family are parishioners of Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in White Plains where she has served on the Women’s Guild Board and has been co-chair of the $20,000 cash raffle for 11 years. Founded in 1948, Archbishop Stepinac High School’s mission is to offer young men a highly competitive academic and extracurricular program that will prepare them for college and leadership roles.
