March 25, 2011 - PRLog -- Sioux Falls, S.D. – Novak Sanitary is pleased to announce that its partner, Recyclebank, has been named the top venture-backed Clean-Tech company in the world by the Wall Street Journal. Recyclebank was also honored as “The Next Big Thing.”

Novak joined forces with RecycleBank last year to offer rewards for customers who recycle. For every pound of recycling materials collected from a household, residential recycling customers earn points which can be redeemed for coupons, gift cards, travel, and other merchandise.

“We have enjoyed our partnership with Recylcebank over the past year,” said Novak Sanitary divisional vice president Bob Novak. “This is an excellent company to work with, and we are proud of them for receiving this amazing honor.”

The Wall Street Journal’s annual Top 10 Clean-Tech rankings seek to identify green companies with the greatest potential to succeed in an increasingly competitive sector. Recyclebank, a unit of Recycle Rewards Inc., jumped three spots from last year’s No. 4 ranking. The companies Suniva and eSolar ranked at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.

The 2011 “Next Big Thing” ranking examined the top 50 U.S. venture-backed companies across all industries, drawn from more than 5,700 firms. Results were published in the Journal in March.

RecycleBank is led by CEO Jonathan Hsu and provides recycling rewards programs in 29 states and in the United Kingdom.

“We’re happy to have this program in Sioux Falls because it helps to save energy, reduce waste, prevent pollution, decrease greenhouse gas emissions and conserve natural resources,” said Novak. “Recycling is wonderful for the community and for the planet.”
