World Renowned Children’s Theater, Galli Theater, Establishes Home with Algonquin Seaport Theater

March 14, 2011 - PRLog -- Algonquin Theater Productions announces that the world famous Galli Theater will be performing children’s theater at its new space on Pier 17 at the South Street Seaport. Galli shows will be performed every Saturday and Sunday at 2pm, beginning with the classic Cinderella, starting April 2nd and running through the month of April 2011.

The Galli Group is a worldwide umbrella organization founded by philosopher, actor and playwright Johannes Galli, with independently operated theaters and training facilities in nine countries. For more than 25 years, the Galli Theater has communicated important social issues through modern adaptations of fairy tales from around the world. The plays highlight their symbols and help to illuminate wisdom that is highly relevant in today’s society. They awaken a sense of liveliness in audiences and actors alike that can help reveal the genuine person and his inner vision and power, thus celebrating childhood. Galli achieves this mission through its mainstage productions, educational programs and its Dr. Fairytale Program. The Galli Theater reaches around 24,000 people per year through their productions and 4,500 students in workshops and classes.

The Algonquin Seaport Theater will be featuring live music in the evenings in its new home, including jazz, cabaret, acoustic, bluegrass and rock.  Eventually, Algonquin plans to build a new 200-seat Off Broadway theater at its new Seaport space.
