Is there a common thread connecting all successful people? I mean the ones who call their own shots and don't work for anyone. In this group, I am talking about those earning $100,000 a year or more. I call them "winners".

The answer is a definite YES. There are many traits that winners have in common. They seem to either learn these or they are just born with them. Good karma trumps a lot of things. Sometimes it's better to be born lucky than smart.

1. They are PRO-active. They never think of themselves as victims, at least with money and business. When they see an opportunity, they jump on it. They don't wait for help, and they don't whine about not having the capital to take advantage of a good deal. Somehow they make it work.

2. Money is a resource they USE. They invest it. They leverage it, but they don't think of it as an end in itself.

Money is power in a lot of things, and successful people use that to their advantage. Since like attracts like, they can bring in people with money also. That multiplies their power and makes them even more able to gain advantage with opportunities.

3. The most successful ones have great foresight. In other words, they see things in a future-sight that all the others do not. Bill Gates and Steven Jobs come to mind. They absolutely KNEW that personal computers were going to be in every house and on every desk someday. So they went about creating their vision in the real world without much thought as to whether they were right or not. It made them billionaires because they went with their vision.

4. They like to hang with other winners, and they don't go near negative people. This is probably a good thing.

If a winning football team has any negative players around, they usually make them athletic pariahs. Negativity is alike a computer virus, and can spread like Trojans do. Winners stay clear of NON winners. They know if they pick up any negative feelings, they make take root and infect them. Better not to be near that.

5. They have a hard time understanding failures who stay that way. Most of them have failed numerous times, but they went back into the game and kept going. Failing is just a temporary setback for them. It is never the END. They just know if they keep going, something will turn in their favor, and it usually does.

Self belief is the common thread of all the super successful and they have it in spades. They learn from their failures and just move on. They DO NOT identify with them.
